“Engineering solutions to support development works”

The road upgrade and widening works form part of a Voluntary Planning Agreement with Penrith Council to support the redevelopment of the Panthers Precinct in Penrith. The upgrade works will support the increase in traffic and pedestrian volumes anticipated from the development, which includes The Royce Retirement Village (which Diversi were also involved in designing), Western Sydney Community and Convention Centre, new multi-level carparks, rugby league academy and new serviced apartments.

The road upgrades include additional travel and channelised turning lanes, widening of the existing pavement, a new signalised intersection for future road access to the Panthers Precinct, adjustment to the existing intersections at McNaughton Street and Mulgoa Road and construction of a new shared path to connect through to the Nepean River.

The design included a review of existing road conditions, design of the proposed road upgrades, stormwater drainage modelling, co-ordination of services and redesign of a nearby carpark to accommodate the widening of the road pavement. Significant quantities of utilities and a large trunk drainage culvert with very shallow cover were identified on site that were considered as part of the design works.

The Jamison Road upgrade forms part of the infrastructure works required to support one of the largest mixed-use developments within the Penrith local government area.
