Tramway Oval, Moore Park

Infrastructure

Client: Laing O’Rourke (for TfNSW)
Status: Completed 2016

The project involved the widening of Tramway Oval at Moore Park to enable a corridor for the new Sydney Light Rail. The scope of works included moving the oval 10 metres to the east including all services, drainage, irrigation, earthworks, line marking and fencing. In addition, the works involved minor modifications to the bus interchange for the Sydney Cricket Ground and an additional bus turning area south of the field.

Diversi were engaged to undertake all engineering design including civil works, structural, hydraulic and electrical services. The civil services included design of earthworks, new irrigation, subsoil drainage, surface stormwater drainage, pits/pipes, kerb and gutter, fences, pavement and modifications to sports field lighting.

Diversi successfully developed a creative solution within a limited area . Eliminated the need to relocate the sports field lighting and any major modifications to the bus interchange (which needed to remain operational during the construction works and for major sporting events at the Sydney Cricket Ground). This provided significant benefits to the client by minimising disruption and providing cost savings.
