Withers & Barry Rd, North Kellyville

Infrastructure | Intersection Upgrade

Client: The Hills Shire Council
Status: Under Construction

Withers and Barry Road forms a major intersection located in North Kellyville. The intersection experiences high demand during peak hour and is a vital link connecting North Kellyville to the rest of Sydney.

The existing intersection was a three (3) way roundabout which was under pressure from the high growth rate in the Precinct.

The project included upgrading the roundabout to a four (4) way signalised intersection, turning lane upgrades and around 400m of subarterial roads.

Diversi undertook all detailed design civil works around the intersection including road design, stormwater design, service coordination and construction staging.

Existing services was a major design constraint with a significant number being located in the area.

Existing services and boundary restrictions therefore required “thinking outside to box” to prevent costly services relocations and to achieve the required level of service for both cars and pedestrians. This provided significant cost savings for the client.
