“Preserving heritage whilst integrating a creative solution”

The redevelopment involved the demolition of the existing carpark and amenities building at the Moore Park Tennis Centre to enable the corridor for the new Sydney Light Rail. The site included a new entry, a drop-off area, car park and amenities building to service both the tennis centre and adjacent regional netball complex.

Diversi was engaged to undertake all engineering design works including civil, structural, hydraulic and electrical services. The civil services included design of earthworks, new irrigation, subsoil drainage, surface stormwater drainage, pits/pipes, kerb and gutter, fences, pavement and modifications to sports field lighting. Other services included design of retaining walls as well as structural, hydraulic and electrical design for the amenities building.

Diversi was able to develop creative solutions in order to preserve the heritage components of the tennis centre and stormwater culverts (which were located near the amenities building) as well as the retention of the existing Morton Bay Figs which were also considered heritage listed.
